Why me, Lord?  E-mail

Here’s a story of a Sunday school teacher, his name was Allen, and his father founded the Church, He was an elder and cared for and nurtured all in the congregation.

One week the entire congregation got news through the prayer chain that Allen had been diagnosed with liver cancer. Most of the congregation came to church prepared to grieve and comfort him.

The usual order of service at this church included a time when members of the Church could stand and give testimonies or prayer requests. That Sunday Allen stood up, the Church was prepared for the prayer request he would share.

Allen first said, "Why me, Lord?" and paused for a minute.
The Church sympathized with him and recognized it as a normal question from a suffering person; and the Church was prepared to comfort him.

But Allen continued,
"Why me, Lord? Why am I blessed with this beautiful wife who loved me for 55 years? Why me?"

And he shared more.
"Why me, Lord? Why am I blessed with a loving church family that I've walked with all the years of my life?"
"Why me, Lord? Why am I blessed financially with all I need?"
"Why me, Lord?  Why did I come to know You at a young age to live a life blessed by Your love and grace and fellowship and salvation?"
"Why me, Lord?"

Allen then sat down, and the Church members echoed Allen's question, "Why me?" in their hearts, filled with tears, realized the abundance of blessings in their lives. Many stood to thank the Lord.

God bless!!!
